I am currently one of two professors in the music therapy department
at Ohio University. We were brought in at the same time to rejuvenate
the program. Since then, enrollment has increased as well as student
successes. My research interests have included music therapy/speech
therapy co-treatment and music/math integration for early childhood.

2007 Title of Program: Working with Children in Spain
Dr.
Eugene Geist, Associate Professor in Early Childhood, Ohio University
and I were invited to visit Valladolid, Spain and visit educational
facilities in order to develop a study abroad program for early
childhood and music therapy students. As a result, we have now
an approved Summer
2008 program. The program development involved creating the courses
for this project as well providing supporting evidence of the
effectiveness of such a program, not only for Early Childhood
and Music Therapy but for any student wanting to work with children.
