Laying the table

  • Observation
  • Respect for the rules

The children will play to lay the table according to the instructions the teacher orders. He/she will teach them a poem:

They set the table
the husband and the wife:
some plates and glasses
forks, spoons and knives.
I am only the guest
So the only thing to do
is to have my hands washed
and eat a thing or two.

(C.MUSCARSEL)

When they have learnt the name of all the utensils used when eating, the teacher will remove one of them while the children have their eyes closed. They will have to guess which one is the tool that now isn't on the table and which is its correct place on it.
