The action of obeying is accepting norms, orders, rules and behaviours. An obedient person is the one who has the habit to obey.

It is necessary to teach the child to obey the adults, because this obedience is part of the learning of the control and regulation of conduct, of the assimilation of rules, which will be assimilated first in an external framework, doing the things the adult says to please him, and to gain his approval and praise; and later, if the child is properly stimulated by the adult, by his own will, learning to control his conduct and to fulfil the rules in a conscious way, no longer to please anybody but for the satisfaction that this produces to him.

From a very early age, the child will be taught to fulfil simple orders, which will get more complicated later, to the extent that his development allows him, because the socialization process is long and complex.

Although it is necessary to teach the child to be obedient, this does not mean that we want a blind obedience, we must always explain why it is necessary that he does the things that are requested to him.

In this block some activities are suggested to develop obedience, but in fact this is obtained through a systematic education in all the activities that the child does in the centre, for example: the free activities, the games, the processes of satisfaction of basic needs (cleanliness, bathroom, feeding, etc) and the educational activities.

ACTIVITY No 1
"WHAT HAPPENED TO THE LITTLE PARROT"

Summary of the activity: Firstly there will be a conversation to know what the children think about obedience, later we will prepare all the necessary things for the staging of a story and finally there will be a theatre play.

Objectives: That the children know why they must be obedient with their parents and teachers.

Procedures:
• Dramatization
• Narration
• Conversation
• Practical Actions

Material Resources: Cardboard, brushes, temperas.

Development of the activity:
1st Part
We will hold a conversation with the children to know what they know about obedience and if they consider themselves obedient or disobedient.

To bring about this conversation the educator will tell the following story:
I know a girl who does not pay attention to what her grandma tells her, one always hears the poor old woman saying: "Rosita, please, I have been calling you for three hours so that you come to have lunch, your food has cooled off and you did not come, I will have to warm it up again. You do the same to me every day!”

Do you think that Rosita is obedient?
How does an obedient person act?
Are you obedient? Why?
Are you disobedient like Rosita?

2nd Part
The educator will tell the children:
So that you know how a disobedient character acts, I will tell you a story:

"The disobedient little parrot"
The sun appeared in the sky as a great disk warming everything up, it said good morning to the animals and the plants that lived happily and content far away, where the lagoon and the marsh are.
"Good morning, dear sun!” all the animals answered in chorus when the sun crossed the sky: the little turtledove with a turn of its eyes, the butterfly opening and closing its wings, the duck entering time and time again the water, the little rabbit hiding afraid behind the thick trees.
All of them went and came in their daily task, except for the little parrot Tita, which did not pay attention to anybody, nor to her mother parrot, she only wanted to do whatever she felt like doing.
One day in which the sky was covered with great storm clouds, and on the verge of a torrential rain, Tita all made up with her red and green feathers, a great necklace around her neck and a shiny purse under one of her wings, was ready to go out.
When seeing this, her mother asked her: "Where are you going, Tita? You cannot leave without asking permission, I must always know where you are, because you are still small and you are in danger in the hill. In addition, look at the sky, there is going to be a great heavy shower and if you get wet you are going to catch the flu."
"I am not going to become ill, mother, because I am a very strong and healthful little parrot. In addition these are ideas of yours, not a single drop of rain is going to fall, you will see that the wind takes the rain away."
After a while, Tita, when her mother took her eyes off her for a moment, set off without paying attention to her mother.
Whenever Tita went out so pretty to take a walk, all the animals said "What a pretty and graceful little parrot!" and Tita always answered half-closing her eyes and turning her light green and dark green tail with a graceful air.
And she liked so much those flatteries that she did not give up taking these strolls every day, even if her mother wanted it or not.
That day the butterfly, beating her wings approached her and said:
"The day is cloudy and it will surely rain, I advise you not to leave."
Tita answered, "This is what my mother says, but I do not believe her" and started to walk.
She had not walked much and when passing by the lagoon the duck took out his head and told her:
"Quack, quack, young lady parrot. If it rains and the lagoon rises you will not be able to cross it when you return from your stroll."
_"But, what a cheeky duck" answered the bad-tempered Tita, "Look at that, to tell me that I will not be able to cross it. Who has given you authorization to say this to me?
The duck answered:
"So, go ahead. That’s your problem if you do not want to pay attention to me."
But Tita, without answering anything, turned her head and continued walking.
Later, from behind a tree the little rabbit that was scared turned up and told her: "How dare you go out in a day like this? Don’t you see that there is going to be a great storm and you are not going to be able to return to your house?"
Tita answered: "I do not want any more recommendations! I do whatever I want and I do not have to pay attention to anybody, not even my mother!”
And indeed, Tita went away wagging her tail even more, holding her head as the bamboo that grew in the waters of the lagoon.
But, as her friends and her mother had told her, the storm began, and the rain was falling so hard that Tita got scared, and with a sad voice she said:
"Ah me! Ah my necklace and my shiny purse! Ah my feathers!"
And the disobedient little parrot, the more it rained the more she was scared, and with all her wet feathers, this was a calamity.
Meanwhile her desperate mother was looking for Tita, the animals told her that she had gone out and this increased her desperation even more.
The lagoon rose and the overflowing waters forced the animals to run to higher places.
The current was each time greater, everything was flooded, Tita spotted a log that floated in the water and she climbed on it to avoid drowning and she floated on it for several days until the storm calmed, but the current had already dragged her very far from her house.
When it stopped raining she was alone in an unknown place, but her friends thinking about the hardships and the danger that Tita was in, organized themselves and they looked for her everywhere. Finally they found her, all wet, without her necklace and her purse and shaking with cold.
Once she was back in her house, Tita swore to her mother and all her friends that she would never be disobedient again.

3rd Part
The educator will comment the story with the children, he will focus on Tita’s attitude, emphasizing the consequences of her disobedience, and the high price that she paid for not paying attention to her mother and her friends.

He will reinforce the criteria that Tita could have died for being disobedient, the educator will tell the children that this is why he recommends that the children do not do what Tita did.

Later he will tell them that on the following day or another day they will do a new activity over what happened to Tita.

ACTIVITY No 2
"WE REPRESENT THE STORY"

Summary of the activity: This is the continuation of the previous activity in which we reinforce what happened to the parrot in the story with some practical actions.

Objectives: To reinforce the experiences on what happens when one is disobedient.

Procedures:
• Dramatization
• Practical Actions

Material Resources: Toy parrot after the storm. Art materials: cardboard, markers, temperas, brushes, among others.

Development of the activity:
1st Part
Once the children are familiar with the story, the educator will invite them to make all the necessary things to stage the story.

What do we need to stage the story?, he will ask and the children will answer, for example: To paint a tree, a lagoon, the grey clouds, the masks for the different little animals, the wings of the butterfly, the ears of the rabbit, the feathers of the parrots, etc.

With the help and direction of the educator, a group will be in charge of painting and cutting to prepare the stage, another group will make the masks and disguises necessary to represent the little animals.

2nd Part
Once the children have learned the story, the educator will organize the dramatization of it.

A girl would represent the role of the parrot mother, another girl the role of Tita, a boy will be the little rabbit, a girl the butterfly, and a boy the duck. Each one will learn the part of the story that he has to act.

The story will be represented and when it is done, the educator will congratulate the children for the work done and he will ask them:
What have you learned with this story?

He will let the children express themselves freely and will emphasize the need for children to be obedient with their parents, teachers and other adults.

Here the educator says a poem about a little blue cloud that did not obey her mother and was trapped by some very dark storm clouds that wanted to take her beautiful blue colour away from her.

After listening to the poem, the educator groups them around him in an informal way and he asks them to give their opinions: "Now you are going to tell me:
What happened to the little cloud?
Why did she lose her blue tone?
The wind had warned her and what did she do?

To reinforce the moral of the story "Sometimes the sky is full of great grey storm clouds and the clouds lose their blue tone, but if the little cloud had paid attention to the wind, this would have blown it away and she would have escaped the storm clouds that wanted to take her blue color".

2nd Part
The educator will invite the children to draw the sky, the clouds, the rain and the grey storm clouds.

Later the drawings will be exhibited in the mural of the classroom and they can be used to tell stories of the rain tale.
